A Comparative Study of the Infants Feeding by Delivery Type


Abstract
The survey was performed on 144 cases of mothers who lives H.P.K APT in Taejeon and were visited L pediatric clinics in Taejeon during July, 1990.
These 144 mothers were divided into 2 groups (72 vaginal delivery group and 72 c /s delivery group).
The results are as the follows
1. There was no significant difference in prenatal plan for breast feeding by delivery type , breast feeding is 95.8% in vaginal delivery group and 93.1% in c /s delivery group.
2. There was no significant difference in prenatal plan for breast feeding duration ; 10-12 months were 37.5%-in vaginal delivery group and 4-6 months were 36.1% in c /s delivery group.
3. There was no significant difference in reason for breast feeding ; baby¢¥s health is 94. 2% in vaginal delivery group and 89.7% in c /s delivery group.
4. There was significant difference in feeding method of the postpartum ; breast feeding is 51.4% in vaginal delivery group and 18.1% in c /s delivery group.
5. There was significant difference in reason for no breast feeding ; no enough breast milk is 80.6% in vaginal delivery group and 59.3% in c/s delivery group.
